Listening Room

Words carry energy differently when spoken. The Listening Room offers recorded passages, reflections, and poems that help set the tone for the ideas within the books. Some recordings are excerpts from the books themselves. Others are pieces that helped shape the work.

Poems That Shape the Work

These poems help frame the spirit behind the books.

The Field

Rumi

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing there is a field.

I'll meet you there.

When the soul lies down in that grass,

the world is too full to talk about ideas.

Language, even the phrase each other,

doesn't make any sense.

This is what Stephen refers to as the field of infinite possibilities.

The World Changed When I Did

Gavin Dillard

The world changed when I did.

It became kinder and gentler with peace its new currency.

When I realized the road had no destination,

the urgency in my steps vanished.

The sun, wind, and rain all became allies.

Dragonflies follow me now.

Butterflies alight my unkempt beard.

Barefoot, I let the wild grasses guide my steps.

The dew of the morning quenches my thirst for eternity.
